Artist Vision
The "Son Shine" collection began as a drawing of Jesus, arms outspread, with the title "I Love You This Much." It has evolved into a 3D sculpture series with scripture references. There are 3 styles available now with additional sculptures to be added each year.
There's a multi-layered process that goes into creating visual art from conceptualization to actualization. After the original piece is sculpted it's sent to New Day Creations for mold making & reproduction of the figures. New Day Creations is an American owned company in China who through the revenues earned in their production facility has established & supports a foster home for physically handicapped, abandoned children.
By having New Day taking a part in the "Son Shine" collection, many of the neediest of God's precious children are given not only food, shelter & schooling, they also receive the necessary surgeries to correct their handicaps before they're offered for adoption. "This is the reason for my involvement with New Day," Ms. Cohen explained, "and I'll always involve them in my work when I can for the sake of the children." The "Son Shine" sculptures are made of stone with a resin binder and an under-painting is applied before going back to our artist, Debra Cohen. Each piece is individually embellished (over-painted) and sealed by Ms. Cohen, then signed & numbered for you, the collectors who love our Lord. They are wonderful reminders of God's love for us & powerful silent witnesses to all who see them.
The artist, Debra Cohen lives in Atlanta Georgia with her husband & their 3 cats. With hands once ridden with arthritis, after Jesus miraculously healed her, she now dedicates all of her artwork to Him.
